A preposition is a word that typically comes before a noun or pronoun and shows the relationship between that noun or pronoun and other words in a sentence. On the other hand, a locative adverbial is an adverb that provides information about the location or direction of an action. One way to distinguish between the two is to see if the word is directly modifying a noun or pronoun (preposition) or providing information about the location or direction of an action (locative adverbial). Additionally, prepositions often form phrases with nouns or pronouns, while locative adverbials usually stand alone in a sentence. **

In addition to the first declension, the locative case exists in the second declension in masculine and neuter singular nouns. It is formed by adding the suffix "-ī" to the stem of the noun. The locative case is used to indicate the location where something is situated or the place in which an action takes place. **

In addition to the first declension, the locative case is also found in the second declension in Latin. However, it is only used with a few specific nouns, such as names of cities, small islands, and a few other words. The locative case in the second declension is formed by adding the suffix "-ī" to the stem of the noun. **

A prepositional attribute is a phrase that provides additional information about a noun in a sentence, often introduced by a preposition. A prepositional object, on the other hand, is the noun or pronoun that receives the action of the verb in a prepositional phrase. A locative adverbial, meanwhile, provides information about the location or direction of the action in a sentence, typically introduced by a preposition indicating place. In summary, prepositional attributes describe nouns, prepositional objects receive the action of the verb, and locative adverbials provide information about location or direction. **
